Wow, what a weekend! I spent Friday evening & all of Saturday (from 11am-8pm) just scrapping my little heart out! I prepared several kits of photos and papers and brought my favorite embellishments (mostly just chipboard & ribbons) and rocked out 12 pages! I'm still kinda shocked that I got that much done...My poor album is literally bursting...guess I better move some of those pages into my new albums (hopefully they'll get here next week!) I won't say much more cuz there's so many photos...enjoy :)

Tania's fabulous extras
I totally forgot to show you these! Tania (always stretching her kits for miles and miles) sent me these images of just a few of the other things she's made using her kits. It blows me away how this woman A) has this much time on her hands and B) that she can squeeze out so many wonderful projects from one kit. It just goes to show you how much stuff is really in these Couture Collections!
LOVE the bubble-wrap & paint effect...been meaning to try that one of these days.

Challenge 78
Aaahhh....another work week down and yet another Friday is upon us. I've had a week full of good intentions when it comes to my To-Do list but I've kinda sucked in the accomplishment department. But in my defense, my bathroom is super clean and (almost) all the clean laundry is put away AND I've been knitting like a maniac so maybe I've been more productive that I think. Today, I'm heading to Jen Oviatt's house for a crop today after supper till midnight and all day tomorrow! So I'm totally bailing on the fam so I can do what I love. The way I see it, if I do something fun like scrapbooking all night and all day, then I might have a little more warm & fuzzy for the toilet scrubbing and laundry folding for the coming week. Sounds logical, right?
So this week we've got a super challenging image to scrap from and I must admit, I was kinda stumped at first but I dug up a couple of old contact sheets from a photo shoot I did years ago in Victoria BC with one of Karen McKinnon's photography students. I am always the first one in line when her students need a subject to help beef up their portfolios! The photos had been sitting in an envelope and I never did do anything with them so this was more than opportune.
The challenge this week lends well to a 2 page layout - which I rarely do - and I just love what the gals created for us this time. Our Flickr photo pool is bursting with great submissions for this month ! You don't wanna miss out on your chance to win a FREE COUTURE COLLECTION by creating pages from our weekly challenges and posting them to the photo pool. You can use any materials you wish just make sure you indicate which week your pages are for so we don't miss them in the voting process. Today's challenge is the final one for this month and we'll be choosing a favorite once we post the first challenge for July so get scrappin' and upload those pages!

Here's a gorgeous interpretation of this challenge using the 2-page layout. The pages below show the details up close. Ronda, your daughter is a beauty!

The herb journal is so pretty! I want to see it filled up with photos, sketches & pressed specimens, don't you?!
This is Kim's final page as our Guest Designer for the month of June. Kim, it has been a pleasure to have you join us and your pages have left us with a few more layouts to be scraplifted! I hope you enjoyed your term with us and we look forward to seeing more of your work posted in our Flickr Photo pool!
Everyone, please don't forget the other contest...go back to this post and scraplift one of Kim's favorite layouts of all time. Link up to that post with the URL to your page and we'll pick a winner which will be announced sometime later this week. You will win this!

just for fun
I decided to hide out in my studio yesterday afternoon and this is what I did...
Baby Sethy...didn't take much to knock him out...a bit o' the boob, a burp and la-tee-da, sleep, just like that!
Baby Noah, such a funny little guy, everyone thought he was a girl when he wore this outfit. He never wore it outside the house. BOOO to gender stereotypes!
I haven't worked on my art journal for a while but this is one of few pages that I'll publicly share.
Seth's 3rd birthday in Courtenay. The wheels were a gift from Auntie Shannon. Now they belong to Mikhail.
This was from a few weeks ago when Ray, Seth & I went for sushi. Gotta love watching a 4 year old try to master chopsticks!
and lastly, my favorite page of all of them. This page captures such an important part of who I am. If you know me at all, you know me to be an articulate & outspoken person with a keen sense of ha-ha! This page pretty much says it all...
Hope your weekend was as good as mine and that it continues to be!

Challenge 77
Shazzam! That was fast! It happens in the blink of an eye, the way Fridays show up around here...It's been another hectic week but the weekend is just around the corner and sometimes that means we get to pause working and hit 'play' on social time. Yay for hangin' with friends & BBQing in the sun.
This week's challenge is a 6x12 sketch (my current favorite change of pace from 12x12's) and it has been used in so many clever ways - again- by our talented team of designers. They have shown the elements of their Couture Collections in a way that can't help but inspire everyone who sees them. This week's pages are bursting with creative goodness!
But don't just look at them, take your inspiration and rock it out on a page. Post your page to our Flickr groups and you could be the lucky winner of this month's Couture Collection. OH! and speaking of Couture Collections, July's Kit is up-Spirit of Summer- it is gorgeous, overflowing with fun embellishments and sure to please even the most discerning scrapbooker! Check it out and order yours while supplies last.

Technology Vs. Life...and something FREE
If you checked in with us this past friday, you noticed that Chrissy's page had been lost in cyberspace. Boooo to technology! She HAD emailed it to me but you know how it goes...when you are heading out of town, emails never arrive at their destination and there's not much you can do till you get back home. And home she is! Here's Chrissy's fantastic page for the current challenge:
Now, if you remember my post earlier this month when I introduced our lovely Guest Designer, Kim she mentioned some of her favorite products & techniques. We also shared her top three favorite layouts of all time for you to scraplift. What you get to do is link up to the original post HERE with your scraplifted pages(just copy & paste the URL for your page and post it in the comments section to be eligible) and you will be the proud owner of this great collection of one of Kim's favorite products...THICKERS!! You need to link up to the original post by the last day of the month to have your name entered in the contest. Winners will be announced in the first week of July.

A whirlwind!
Wow, the weekend's over and another crazy work week is underway. This farmin' gig is a busy thing! We're selling sod like crazy and I haven't set foot into the studio in DAYS!! I'm going to head out to the studio to pack a few orders (we LOVE Etsy!) and maybe even photograph the new finished knitted goodies. Don't even ask me if I've had time to scrap!
There's some new stock in the studio that I can't wait to play with...take a look!
I've got Tim Holtz Ink, Grunge Board & Metal numbers as well as Maya Road chipboard books, eyelets, piercers & mats....great goodies, to say the least!
Oh, and on my list of stuff to photograph is July's kit. You won't believe how much stuff is in this kit! You better make sure your Paypal has a few extra bucks in it for that kit because you don't wanna miss out!
I'm off to make a dent in my 'to-do' list. Have a rockin' day! XO

Challenge 76
You know how when you're a kid, it seems as though things like Christmas and summer holidays take FOREVER to come? I think as you get older, time speeds up. We start our school year much earlier here than anywhere else I've ever lived and so therefore, our school year ends earlier too. Noah started school in August and is out for holidays already! (We're on day 3 acutually). I'm a little in shock that it's mid-june...where does the time go?
This week's challenge was super tricky for me. It was, quite literally, a challenge. I was a little stumped by the 'plain'-ness of the inspo-piece and had to leave my layout for a few days and come back to it. After a little reflection (and major studio rearranging - post rainstorm& water damage to magazines) I got an idea that made my page feel more 'done' than it had been previously. I feel pretty good about it now. I love working with large prints (but only sometimes because the layout options can become somewhat limiting) just for a change.
If you are inspired by this piece and wish to upload your work to our Flickr Group photo pool, we'd love to see what you can do with it! If you aren't already a flickr member, you'll have to join and add the LP Group to your list of groups but once you've done that you're all set to start adding your work. Why would you want to do this, you may ask? Well, for starters you could be the next lucky winner of the monthly contest where we choose one favorite from all the non-design team pages loaded to the group. What do you win?? Well, you win that month's Couture Collection! You are not required to use Couture Collections to make your pages but you're totally welcome to if you happen to own them! You can enter all month long and you can enter as often as you wish. Just make sure you indicate which weekly challenge your pages are created for so we don't miss you in our voting process.
Check out what our Uber talented design team created for you to enjoy this week!
side note: WalMart prints 81/2x 12" photos....super fun to scrap with!
