Time to choose your favorite!
Ugh, we're a little late getting to this part of things...but here we go. The new design team has scoured the Flickr Group and chose the following three layouts as our finalists for the vote for May's favorites. You'll see a poll on the top sidebar where you can cast your vote. Feel free to blog or post about this on any chat groups or forums you belong to, we wanna spread the word and share the love! The poll will be up until the 31st of June and we'll announce the winner shortly afterward! Feel free to follow the links to each of the artists' Flickr galleries to see more of their dynamite work!

Challenge 117
There's a certain delicousness that comes with Fridays, don't you think? The sense that there's no more work after today for a few days' reprieve and in theory that could mean that there's an opportunity for things like creativity. Perhaps your weekend includes some creative time and maybe - just maybe- you'll even get a chance to bust out a page or two for our challenges. That would be pretty close to a perfect weekend by my measure!
Oh, and for those of you who want to know, my birthday was absolutely fantastic (mustache party included!) and I want to thank all of you who sent me birthday love last week :) I wasn't expecting to read last week's post with a giant Happy Birthday on top. Made my day.
So this is the last week that Glenda will be our Guest Designer but hopefully not the last time she joins us with her incredible and inspiring layouts...and since this is her last week, that means that you have until April 3 to upload the links to your scraplifts of her work to THIS post.
For this week's layout, our challenge was to:
USE A TRANSPARENCY AS A BACKGROUND
and as you'll see below, the gang rocked it. I really liked this challenge as it forced me to see my transparencies in a new light. I often use them in small pieces as embellishments so this was a great new way to use something already in my stash. I'm sure I'm not the only one who is using more of what I already have in my massive stash rather than buying more stuff (as much as there is tons of new goodies I'd love to have!) Be sure to share your layouts with us in our Flickr Group. We choose three favorites every month that the public vote on as their favorites and that lucky winner receives a fabulous package bursting with scrappy goodness!
We're almost at 100 members in our Flickr Group...the 100th member will receive an extra special gift...tell all your friends and if they win, maybe they'll share with you! :)

Challenge 113
What a week! Just when I was starting to feel like a passenger on a runaway train, life took a surprising turn and started looking very organized, calm and what previously looked like chaos now looks a lot more like mellow and peaceful. Right ON!! So my to-do list is gradually getting shorter which means there's more room for scrapping & creativity. This just keeps getting better and better.
This is the final week that Marianne is creating with us. Her pages have brought so much inspo to everyone, but don't forget to upload the link to your scraplift of her 3 favorite layouts in the comments section of the post found here. You have until Saturday night to do so. Your links need to be uploaded before we introduce our next Guest Designer. If you have created a layout and added it to our Flickr Group or another online gallery, just make sure we get the link to include you in what is currently an easy race to win. Don't leave it too long though...we'd hate for you to miss out!
Share your interpretation of this week's challenge with us in our Flickr Group. Read "What We're All About" on the sidebar to find out what you need to do in order to have a shot at winning this month's prize pack.
The challenge this week is not a sketch, rather it will motivate you to dust off some of those great art supplies that are sometimes prone to being ignored...loosen up and give yourself permission to make a mess!

Zkmom! YAY! Everyone has (hopefully) had time to cast their vote and the poll shows that the majority of the vote went to Zkmom. So now that January is well over and I probably should have posted this a little sooner, now's a good time to look at our three finalists for January's Flickr Submissions! There were a lot to choose from and the pages were hard to narrow down to just three! You have until the 26th to cast your vote on the sidebar so don't delay and be sure to spread the word!

Challenge 110
Say what? It's Friday already?! Wow. That sure happens fast, doesn't it? It's crazy how this day sneaks up on me every single week. Sheesh! Well, luckily we're all prepared and scrapped up for this week's challenge. We're using a sketch (and who doesn't love a good sketch!) and the team has really given us their top-notch work - like usual- and I for one had a great time pushing my personal comfort zone...and that would be to use more than one photo. Always feels a little weird!
So of course we wanna see what you can do with this one! If you haven't already joined our Flickr Group, please do so and upload your work there so we can consider your pages in our upcoming poll (which is a monthly occurrence that you don't want to miss!) Lucky winners receive RAKs that would make your mouth water! When you share your layouts with the pool, please remember to indicate which weekly challenge your page is for so it doesn't get missed.

Challenge 109
Man, this week's layouts are out of this world! Things have been very busy on my end recently with farm year-end but I have managed to get some serious layouts made. We have a lot going on here at Lotus Paperie too! There are only a two days left to add your comment to THIS post which, if you haven't already done so you will want to get in on the giveaway! Also, our voting is now closed and the Flickr Winner for December's contributions is AAMummy! Yeah! Email me at info@lotuspaperie.com with your mailing information and I'll get your RAK in the mail!
Oh ya, and this is Kathie's last week with us and it has been wonderful having her join us this month...pages that I'm gonna have to lift for sure! Now for this week's challenge. We are not working from a sketch this week, rather we're using a really fab art supply (I have to confess, this was my first time but it was on my to-do list forever!)...the challenge is to:
So I'm sure many of you are asking yourselves, "what the heck is molding paste?" Go here to see what it is and if that's not enough, just Google it...but make sure you spell it right! Some of the designers chose to use Gesso instead. Similar results...amazing stuff, really.

I used the molding paste for the pink flourish. I used the matrix from a chipboard shape which was gently taped in place. I mixed metallic pink paint with the molding paste and smoothed it into all the grooves of the matrix with a popsicle stick. It took several hours to dry but now it's solid and a fab raised embellishment.

Incredible shmooshing results on this layout...get a load of those fluffy clouds! And let's face it, who doesn't love Glimmer Mist?!

Ever get the feeling...
that you've totally forgot something? Like when you're driving to work in the morning and you ask yourself if you remembered to turn off the oven or lock the door? Well, this morning I had that nagging feeling that there was a contest that I TOTALLY forgot to announce winners for!!! ACK!
So, ages ago on our Blogoversary, there was a fun challenge for everyone to enter a layout made from any challenge we've ever used and to upload it in the comments section of this post. Only two entries were received because it was pretty darned close to the holidays which is a good way tfor it to get overlooked! So I've decided to award the prize to both players!!! So our Tania (who I love to bits, I'll admit it!) did a great one of her little guy, Mikhail which you can see in her post here and this layout contributed by Michelle. Gorgeous pages guys! So I have Tania's mailing info but Michelle, I need yours so I can get your goodies off to ya! Email me at info@lotuspaperie.com and your stuff should be on its way by Monday.

Let's have a word, shall we?
I'm sure you've seen on the various blogs that people are getting on Ali's bandwagon and choosing their word for the year. The purpose of this word is to serve in place of resolutions - which, let's face it are impossible to stick to all year long- whereas these words serve as positive affirmations of our goals and hopes for the coming year...much more do-able, don't you think!
I've chosen my word for this year to be believe because I need reminders that all the seeds that I've planted for my life will sprout if I believe. I blogged about my reasons for choosing this word here.

Time to choose your favorite!
It's so hard to carve out creative time during the holidays but a few hardcore scrappers managed to pull it off! These ladies were able to drag themselves away from all the cooking and cleaning that goes hand-in-hand with Christmas and forced themselves to make a few pages for December's challenges! Phew, what a feat!! So our design team has chosen their favorites from the very few that were uploaded to our Flickr Group and these are the three finalists. You will see on the sidebar to the right a place for you to vote on your favorite layout. At the end of the two weeks that we're giving everyone to cast their vote, the winner will be announced and that talented scrapper will receive a fabulous RAK in the mail...so that is YOUR incentive to check out January's challenges here and here to get some inspiration for your own layouts to upload to the Flickr Group by the end of January for your chance to win FREE SCRAP STUFF!!!

Challenge 106
Wow, the holidays are finally behind us and life seems pretty normal again. The scrapbooking to-do list is longer than ever and I don't even want to think about the 150+ print order waiting for me at the printers...guess I'll be scrapping a whole lot soon!
This week's challenge is just perfect for a little more catch -up. Granted, it only uses one photo but you can always change that up if it suits you better.
