Flippin' the bird to idea-stealing bloggers

You know, I'm all for scraplifting and idea borrowing but outright theft of ideas and pretending they're your own is just lame. While I can't force anybody to ever credit me as being an original source of any one piece of artwork or whatever I can make good use of freedom of speech to let out a good ol' rant!
As you know, each month I feature one amazing designer to join us on our quest to create scrapbooking greatness....well, one month a few months ago, I invited one particular designer to join us. That designer agreed to join and I emailed her a copy of a questionnaire that I created especially for our Guest Designers to fill out for me to post on their intro day at the beginning of the month. She never sent it back to me, never emailed me that she had changed her mind about participating and that was that. Oh well. I thought, "I better find someone else, and quick!" so life carried on and today I received an email from "a blog that shall remain nameless to protect what little remains of their dignity after idea stealing" announcing some exciting changes at their blog. Being an email subscriber to that blog, I followed the links and was so PISSED OFF when I saw that they were introducing a new guest designer and that they were using MY EFFING INTERVIEW QUESTIONS!!!(almost verbatim!) Now, granted, there's really only so many questions a designer could be asked but they are identical to mine and in the same order. I mean, get serious! Fine, have a Guest Designer, Fine, ask her questions but for the LOVE OF CHRIST, come up with your own goddamned questions!

I just think that if you are going to use someone else's idea, give the original creator the credit. I think that claiming something as your own that is STOLEN is gross & rude.

Oh, and if you plan to steal someone's stuff, you might not want to send them an email announcing it. Just a thought.

And just to be clear, my intention is not to slam anyone (even if I am offended and my feelings are hurt so I feel like they deserve it) I just want to make sure any other would-be idea thieves think to ask me to 'borrow' my work. I'm actually really nice and very generous...in fact, so much so that if you just ask me to use my work for your own stuff I can pretty much guarantee that I"ll say yes. Just do the courtesy of asking me first.

I'd be just as p%ss*d off! Unfortunatly there are a lot of people who do that :( and I've seen it happen a lot, stealing ideas etc. Hopefully if there is Karma it'll kick them in the butt. :)

And Allie, nope, didn't escape Full House in Canada lol
