Meet Holly!

What a month! Susan's pages were so gorgeous and totally made me wish I had a little more pink in my life...so I had a better excuse for using that many flowers. It was a total feast for my eyes to see her ornate and luxe pages every week! Thanks so much for joining us in July, Susan! I'll be announcing the winner of June's Guest Designer Scraplift challenge once the prize package arrives next week! Sorry for the slow-poke factor...suppliers don't always work with my timelines! :)

Holly Hanks is one hot scrapper who I found on SISTV. She's got a fun and lively style that just oozes creativity. She's joining us this month as our Guest Designer...hold onto your socks! She's got her three favorite layouts below so please be sure to have a good look and get ready for another scraplift challenge! Welcome to the team! She's answered a few questions to help us get to know her a little better...read on...

Q:Tell us a bit about you and your family.

A: I'm a proud army wife to Bryan, and mother to our littles: Hazel (4) and Luka (18 mos.). We also have a fabulous French bulldog, Sake. Our home is wherever the army sends us. Currently, that means Fort Bragg, NC.

Q: How long have you been scrapbooking and where did you get your start in this craft?

A: I've actually been scrapbooking for about 4 years now. But, it all started from a Stampin' Up party that an old friend took me to back in 2001. I stamped for a few years, working on the DT for A Muse Artstamps. Somewhere along the way, I got into a lot of the altered projects using the collage images that were popular a few years back. Then, I had my daughter. I figured, instead of using collage image photos of other peoples' families, I might as well start using my photos of my own family. Thus, my obsession with this crazy hobby was born!

Q:What inspires your creativity when you are scrapbooking?

A: I get my inspiration everywhere: magazines, fabric patterns, store displays. Some of my favorite sources of inspiration are Real Simple magazine, Etsy, the goods at Urban Outfitters, and the now-defunct Adorn magazine. I still flip through the back-issues of Adorn constantly...the pages are completely dog-eared. My daily blog reads for sources of inspiration are decor8, Print & Pattern, Indie Fixx, and Poppytalk Handmade . Those are some amazing reads. If you aren't already familiar with them, I suggest you take a peek. But, don't blame me if your blog roll just got miles longer! ;0)

Q:Describe your creative style

A: Style? I never know how to answer that question. When you figure it out, be sure to let me know!

Q:What are your three favorite products/techniques right now?

A: Wow. Only 3 products? Hmmm... Well, definitely Thickers. I'm an equal-opportunity Thickers lover...any color, and font, any material. Love 'em all! Two other favorites would have to be anything Hambly and bling. I gotta' have bling...glitter, jewels, sequins...just so long as it sparkles!

Q:What project(s) are you currently working on?

A: Believe it or not, I am already moving into working on Halloween decorations for our house. We're having a big party this year, so I want the house to look its spookiest! I'm also making a little box for my niece's birthday. I painted it all up, am decorating it, and adding a handmade book from me and some other crafty goodies inside.

Q:Describe your perfect day

A: My perfect day would be spent on a beach. Any beach...as long as it is far away from North Carolina. This family needs a vacation in the worst way. So, on the beach, with the hubs and kids, a picnic lunch, some shopping in the late afternoon, and to a restaurant for some fabulous seafood for dinner. I'm thinking Mexico would be the perfect place for this. Maybe next year, maybe next year...
